We set off at 5am to see the sun rise at Angkor Wat, the biggest religious monument in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Needless to say, it was pretty damn special.
It was slightly hazy, and the sea of selfie sticks lining the lake marred the atmosphere a little (God knows what time they arrived to shotgun those precious spots at the front) but it was still a beautiful sight as the sun creeped up behind the towers, and the vast face of the temple reflected in the water.
Life-changing? Perhaps not. Worth getting up for? Definitely.
